We Innovate in a Complex environment and Innovators solve Complex Problems. This webinar will explore the nature of complexity and the essential steps for solving complex problems. Complexity arises with a set of Interrelated & interacting elements which are generally processes, people and technology. There is a tendency to focus on process problems and Innovators need a System Approach. There are many layers in a system and innovators travel through complexity, use Collective Knowledge and balance creativity and critical thinking in order to solve complex problems.

This webinar series will help you understand the primary competences for Future of Jobs, how they link together, and how they ultimately enable the skill of Problem Solving for Innovation which is the opening session. Each skill will be treated as a stand alone session which will also show its linkage to the other skills. 'Leadership' will be addressed in the final session and will show how to manage the previous skills as an integrated package.

Peter Merrill

Peter Merrill

Peter Merrill is a Keynote Speaker on Innovation and has keynoted at conferences in cities such as Dubai, Mumbai and Shanghai. He began his career in R&D in a major UK corporation and later as Chief Executive of a leading Design Brand in that corporation he led Innovation in one of the most demanding markets. He is one of North America’s foremost authorities on Management Systems which he has implemented in such innovative companies as IBM, A.I.G., and BlackBerry. He was founding chair of the ASQ Innovation Division and currently chairs the Canadian national committee to ISO/TC279 the Technical Committee on Innovation Management. He is author of the books “Innovation Generation”, “Innovation Never Stops”, and his most recent book is “ISO 56000, Building Innovation into your QMS.” He writes the Innovation Column for Quality Progress.
